Track or Pole: |

Poles can look decorative made of wood or wrought iron and can also be painted to blend in with the current colour scheme. If you have decided to have tab tops then poles are essential. |

Curtain tracks come in a variety of guises but the rule of thumb is to spend as much as you can afford, you always get what you pay for. Tracks can be fitted to the wall (approximately 4" (10cm) above the window frame) or ceiling and can usually be bent to go inside or outside of bay windows. If finances permit endeavour to use tracks with built in pulley cords as this stops you handling the curtains to draw them which can pull them out of shape and of course soil them. If you intend to add a pelmet or valance then tracks are much more suitable. |
